KMBC: Saint Luke's Genomic Testing Solves Kansas City Man's Cancer Misdiagnosis

About five years ago, Paul Bell was diagnosed with lung cancer. But after getting a second opinion and undergoing years of chemotherapy and other treatment, he did not see much improvement.

That is when Paul saw an ad for genomic sequencing at Saint Luke's, which led him to the Saint Luke's Center for Precision Oncology

Through genomic sequencing, doctors at Saint Luke's found out Paul actually has metastatic prostate cancer, not lung cancer. Today, he is on the proper treatment for his prostate cancer and is seeing dramatic improvements.

KMBC talked to Paul and Dr. Janakiraman Subramanian about the life-changing test.
