Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City welcomes Dr. Lisa Weber as Associate Medical Director for Kidney Transplant Program

Wichita nephrologist Lisa A. Weber, MD of Kansas Nephrology Physicians has been named Associate Medical Director for the Kidney Transplant Program at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City. In her new role Dr. Weber will contribute to the growth and development of Saint Luke’s Hospital’s Kidney Transplant Program, while continuing to serve as a nephrologist with Kansas Nephrology Physicians in Wichita.

“Dr. Weber shares Saint Luke’s dedication to providing high quality patient care, as shown by her many years of excellent work with Kansas Nephrology Physicians,” said Jameson Forster, MD, director of abdominal transplant and surgical director of Saint Luke’s Liver Transplant Program. “She serves her patients with compassion and excellence, and we feel that she is a great fit for our team. We are delighted that she will assume a leadership role for Saint Luke’s Kidney Transplant Program.”

Currently Dr. Weber provides comprehensive kidney care to the community through integrative service, education and advocacy at Kansas Nephrology Physicians. She is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Transplantation. Dr. Weber serves as clinical assistant professor at University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita. She also serves as clinical instructor for Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine and Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences.

Dr. Weber received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Wichita State University and earned a medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine at Wichita. Dr. Weber completed post-graduate training in internal medicine at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine at Chattanooga, and completed a transplant fellowship and earned nephrology certification at University of Alabama Medical Center at Birmingham.
