Specimen Processing:

1. Separate the serum or plasma from the cells within 1 hour of collection.
2. Indicate the specimen type on the request form and on the tube.
3. The date and time of draw are required on the request form for processing.
4.If testing is delayed more than 2 hours from the time of specimen collection, then the serum or plasma needs to be frozen until tested.
