Stool - formed or liquid
Preferred Volume:
2 g (thumbnail size) or 2 mL
Minimum Volume:
1 g or 1 mL
Specimen Processing:
The specimen should be stored refrigerated and transported to the referral laboratory within 24 hours of collection. If a longer period is required, store frozen.
Store and Transport:
Refrigerated or frozen
Unacceptable Condition:
Samples received at room temperature or a prolonged delay (greater than 72 hours post collection) or in inappropriate containers will be rejected.
