About David G. Skolnick
David Skolnick, MD, is a the Medical Director of the Valve Center of Excellence at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute and the Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory at Saint Luke’s Health System.
Dr. David Skolnick graduated from Columbia University in New York City. In pursuing an interest in French and chemistry, he spent the following year as a research assistant at the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, Switzerland. He then matriculated at University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. His subsequent training was at Washington University in St. Louis followed by a cardiology fellowship at Indiana University. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease.
Dr. Skolnick was honored in the past with the teacher-of-the-year award from the cardiology fellows. Since 2015, he serves as the course director for an annual 2-day regional cardiology conference.
As an integral part of the Heart Valve Team, he collaborates closely with his structural interventionalists and surgical colleagues to evaluate and guide transcatheter procedures for patients with severe valvular heart disease. He participates in on-going clinical trials centered on new device options for those with valvular heart disease.
