About George B. Sorensen
G. Brent Sorensen, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon with Saint Luke's Surgical Specialists. He became interested in bariatrics during his surgical residency and completed a fellowship in advanced laparoscopy and bariatrics.
Dr. Sorensen performs gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy. He also performs other minimally invasive and endoscopic procedures. Since joining Saint Luke's, he has introduced techniques to improve bariatric patient care and outcomes.
Dr. Sorensen is a board-certified general surgeon and a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and verified under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program. He also serves as an associate professor of surgery for the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
