Katherine E. Ambrosier Groves, LSCSW

Katherine Groves, LSCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker and outpatient psychotherapist with Saint Luke’s Behavioral Health Specialists and Saint Luke’s Hospital Crittenton Children’s Center. Katie treats children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of needs. She has special interests in treating anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, suicidal ideation/self-harming behaviors, grief and loss, chronic health issues, and sleep disturbances.
Katie has a particular interest in interventions with older adults related to life transitions and loss of independence due to aging, chronic illness, or other barriers. Katie is Dialectical Behavior Therapy-trained and applies these interventions when working with adolescents and adults to manage suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, and emotional dysregulation. She is certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for insomnia and trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy for trauma.
Katie uses a person-centered, solution-focused approach and believes the patient is the expert on their own life. She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy into her practice. She believes that patients often already possess the skills needed to manage life stressors and therapy can help to identify and access these skills to empower them in a meaningful way.
