Robert J. Kenney Jr., DO

Robert Kenney, DO, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained surgeon with Saint Luke's Surgical Specialists. He has dedicated his career to providing patients with compassionate surgical care throughout their preoperative, operative, and postoperative course. His focus in bariatric surgery requires a comprehensive approach utilizing surgery, diet, exercise, and psychology.
Dr. Kenney started a bariatric and weight-loss surgery program in Warrensburg, Mo., and ran it for eight years prior to starting the bariatric program at St. Luke's North. He specializes in bariatric, anti-reflux, colon, gallbladder, and hernia surgery, utilizing minimally invasive techniques including robotic and laparoscopic procedures.
Dr. Kenney is active in the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and the American College of Surgeons, and is verified under its Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program. He graduated from Midwestern University and completed his residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He completed his fellowship in surgery at the Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City.
