Bobby Olm-Shipman serves as president of Saint Luke’s South and East Region, which includes leadership and oversight of Saint Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Saint Luke’s South Hospital in Overland Park, Kansas; and Saint Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute on the Saint Luke’s South campus. The South and East Region serves eastern Jackson County, Missouri, southern Johnson County, Kansas, and surrounding communities as part of the West Region of BJC Health System, which operates as Saint Luke’s and serves the Kansas City area, northwest Missouri, and eastern Kansas.
Bobby joined Saint Luke’s in 2003 and has since taken on numerous roles of increasing leadership responsibility. He previously served as vice president of planning and operations, led a Saint Luke’s-wide initiative aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, and managed operations for Saint Luke’s neuroscience program, prior to taking on executive leadership roles for Saint Luke’s South Hospital, Saint Luke’s Cushing Hospital in Leavenworth, Kansas, and Saint Luke’s East Hospital.
Bobby earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in health policy and management from the University of Kansas.
Bobby has been involved in numerous local, state, and national health care and civic organizations, including being an active member of the Kansas Hospital Association and joining its board of directors in 2018. In January 2024, Bobby began serving a one-year term as chair of the Kansas Hospital Association board of directors, responsible for guiding the 21-member governing board that oversees the organization’s strategic activities and leading the organization on crafting its 2025–2027 strategic plan.
