Saint Luke’s North and Critical Access Region
Darren Bass, DPT, FACHE, is president of Saint Luke’s North Hospital’s two campuses, located in Kansas City, Missouri, and Smithville, Missouri. He also provides leadership and oversight for the entire consolidated Saint Luke’s North and Critical Access Region, including including Allen County Regional Hospital in Iola, Kansas; Anderson County Hospital in Garnett, Kansas; Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe, Missouri; and Wright Memorial Hospital in Trenton, Missouri. The North and Critical Access Region is part of the West Region of BJC Health System, which operates as Saint Luke’s and serves the Kansas City area, northwest Missouri, and eastern Kansas.
Prior to joining Saint Luke’s, Darren served as vice president of clinical services for CoxHealth System in Springfield, Missouri, as well as system vice president, president, executive director, and administrative director of rehab and support services at Cox Monett in Monett, Missouri.
Darren earned his bachelor’s degree from Drury University and his Master of Science degree in physical therapy and Doctor of Physical Therapy from WashU Medicine in St. Louis. As a physical therapist, Darren draws on clinical expertise and executive leadership experience to develop and carry out patient-focused strategic objectives.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and has served on numerous education, health care, and community boards and committees, including a term as president of the Missouri Hospital Association Southwest District.
