Susie Krug
Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Executive, BJC Health System West Region
Susie Krug, MHA, BSN, CENP, is chief nursing executive for BJC Health System’s West Region (St. Luke’s). In this role, she is responsible for leading nursing strategy and the advancement of nursing practice across the region. She provides strategic nursing leadership regionally and drives measurable improvements in quality, patient experience, and workforce engagement. Susie leads in the development, deployment, optimization, and integration of clinical practice teams, and leads transformation of care delivery models that align clinical excellence and evidence-based practices. Susie champions continued integrations of technologies and advanced equipment and positions teams to care modeling that always centers on the patient.
Susie started her career with Saint Luke’s in 2001 as a nurse in the Emergency Department and has held positions in nursing management, including chief nursing officer of Saint Luke’s East Hospital. She successfully led the hospital in certification for Primary Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI), Primary Stroke, and Advanced Total Hip and Knee Replacement from The Joint Commission, and in Center of Excellence in Specialized Prostate Treatment accreditation by the Surgical Review Corporation.
Susie earned her master’s degree in health care administration from Webster University and is certified in executive nursing practice.
Susie is a member of numerous professional nursing organizations and has served in board positions for Saint Luke’s East Surgery Center and Lee’s Summit Cares and currently serves on the board of trustees for Rockhurst University.
