Saint Luke's Rehabilitation Institute's newest staff member is making an immediate impact on patient care this year. Henli is a two-year old facility dog, highly trained to work in clinical settings alongside licensed therapists.

Two years after an intern presented on the clinical and emotional benefits of service animals, the Rehabilitation Institute is delighted to introduce the world to Henli, a highly trained dog with a knack for comfort and connection.

This year, Michelle almost skipped her preventive screening, but instead of skipping, she chose to get her first 3D mammogram. And like many women, she wasn’t aware that it was now covered by insurance.

Mindy, a teacher in Blue Springs, has a family history of breast cancer, so it wasn’t a surprise when her doctor recommended she start annual mammograms at the age of 35.

Erica Stone started having seizures when she was just 3 years old. Through her roles as Miss Missouri and teacher, she developed a passion for educating children and adults on epilepsy to help lessen the stigma.

Reconnecting with a former high school classmate turned out to be a saving grace in Lori’s life.
