KMBC: Donate Life Month: Heart and Kidney Recipient Shares His Story

Anthony Weatherspoon, who received lifesaving heart and kidney transplants, is grateful for the gift of life this April.

April is National Donate Life Month, a time designated to raise awareness about the need for organ, eye, and tissue donation. 

KMBC talked with Weatherspoon's care team, Matthew Wilkinson, MD, a surgeon with Saint Luke’s kidney and liver transplant program, and Taiyeb Khumri,  MD, a heart failure and transplantation cardiologist at Saint Luke’s Mid  America Heart Institute, about the importance of organ donation.
