FOX4: Columbia Man Receives Saint Luke's 1,000th Heart Transplant

A man from Columbia, Missouri, got a new heart and a second chance at life, marking the 1,000th heart transplant at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute.

Saint Luke's is only the 23rd hospital in the country to reach this milestone.

FOX4 talked to Dr. Brett Sperry, a cardiologist specializing in advanced heart failure and transplantation at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute, about Jon's transplant and the significant milestone.
