FOX4: Runner who suffered heart attack and nearly died meets woman who helped save him
Tom considers himself an avid runner, with no prior heart problems. This time last year, at Run for the Cows, he collapsed and was having a heart attack. Another runner noticed and came quickly to his aid. Without her, Tom wouldn't have gotten the care he needed. They met for the first time and FOX4 was there to witness the reunion.
Dr. Tracy Stevens, cardiologist at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute, spoke with FOX4 about preventative steps people can take to help reduce their risk of our number one killer, heart attacks. She also explains why stepping in as a bystander is so important.
