Hedrick Medical Center and Livingston County Health Center to Host Fall Prevention Event

CHILLICOTHE, Mo. – Hedrick Medical Center, in partnership with Livingston County Health Center, will host an Aging in Place event focused on fall prevention. The Fall Prevention Fair will take place on Wednesday, September 25, from 9 a.m. – noon in The Gardens at Hedrick Medical Center.

"Education on fall prevention is crucial," says Luci Skaggs, Rehabilitation Manager at Hedrick Medical Center. "By understanding the risks and learning practical strategies, we can empower individuals to take control of their safety. Prevention strategies can significantly reduce the likelihood of falls and enhance overall well-being."

The event will feature various screenings and information booths, all designed to help educate attendees on potential fall risks, tips on avoiding falls, and health assessments that can determine whether medical interventions could help reduce the risk of falls.

  • 9:30 a.m. - Fall Prevention Tips – HMC Rehab Team
  • 10:15 – 11 a.m. - Silver Sneakers Class – Grand River YMCA 
  • 11:10 a.m. - Nutrition Tips – Christina Ferguson, Registered Dietitian 
  • 11:30 a.m. - Medication Overview – Scott Cady, Chillicothe Family Pharmacy
