KMBC: Saint Luke's Works to Raise Awareness For Women's Heart Health and Research this Heart Month
Heart disease remains the number one health threat for women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year—that's more than all forms of cancer combined.
Saint Luke’s Muriel I. Kauffman Women’s Heart Center is leading national research on women’s heart health and disease prevention, including the HOPE Study, which aims to address the maternal mortality crisis by looking at outcomes of pregnant individuals with heart disease.
Closing out American Heart Month, Tracy Stevens, MD, medical director of the Women’s Heart Center, joined KMBC to talk about the unique risks women face to their heart health and help raise awareness.
