KSHB: Saint Luke's Announces Institute to Study Women's Heart Health

Kansas City will soon be home to a first of its kind research institute dedicated to studying women's heart health.

Saint Luke's has received an endowment to establish Saint Luke’s Muriel I. Kauffman Institute for Women’s Cardiovascular Research. It will aim to provide more research-supported answers on heart conditions that are unique to or more prevalent in women.

KSHB talked to Dr. Tracy Stevens, medical director of Saint Luke's Muriel I. Kauffman Women's Heart Center, and one local woman who suffered a SCAD heart attack about the significance of the new institute.
