A landmark study co-authored by Dr. James O'Keefe, a cardiologist at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute, evaluated improvements in life expectancy associated with participation in various sports. The study found the best types of exercise for improving life expectancy are social sports that involve playing with friends like tennis, badminton, and soccer.
