Media Coverage: Saint Luke's Pathway to Purpose volunteers deliver red scarves to patients with heart disease

National Wear Red for Women Day is the first Friday in February. It's a day to raise awareness for the number one health threat to women - heart attack.

Every year, Saint Luke's Pathway to Purpose volunteers and women from Saint Luke's Muriel I. Kauffman Women's Heart Center walk the halls of Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute and hand out red scarves to women recently diagnosed with heart disease to let them know they are not alone in their journey. These volunteers have survived heart disease themselves and can relate to the unknown that these women face.
