Saint Luke’s Hospital Named Among Top 100 Hospitals With Great Women’s Health Programs by Becker’s Hospital Review

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (March 3, 2014) — Becker’s Hospital Review, one of the nation’s leading magazines for hospital business news and analysis, has recognized Saint Luke’s Hospital for clinical excellence, quality care and health awards by naming it to its list of “100 Hospitals with Great Women’s Health Programs.”

 

“Hospitals were selected based on clinical excellence, quality care and women’s health awards,” said Becker’s.  Hospitals included in the list also have been recognized for their excellence in women’s health by independent organizations such as U.S. News & World Report, Healthgrades, UNICEF’s Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative and CareChex.  Hospitals cannot pay to be included in the list.

 

Saint Luke’s Hospital was selected because of its strong commitment to women’s health, supported by The Ellen Hockaday Center for Women’s Care, The Muriel I. Kauffman Women’s Heart Center and Saint Luke’s Hospital Breast Center.  Additionally, Saint Luke’s Hospital was included in U.S. News & World Report’s 2013-14 list of Best Hospitals for excellence in gynecology.

The report recognized The Ellen Hockaday Center for Women’s Care for offering women’s bladder and pelvic health services, genetic counseling and specialized care for high-risk pregnancies.  It also recognized Saint Luke’s Hospital’s Breast Center, which is equipped to provide diagnostic mammography and diagnostic ultrasound services.  Saint Luke’s Hospital’s gynecologic oncology program is recognized as the area’s largest, and provides specialized treatment for reproductive cancers.
