Seeing double
The maternity staff at Saint Luke’s East Hospital cares for one to two sets of twins a month, but December kicked off a twin baby boom that has people talking.
Between Dec. 15 and Jan. 12, six sets of twins were born at the hospital and were all being cared for at the same time. This half-dozen double down was big news in Kansas City, but it also caught the attention of The New York Daily News, abcnews.com, and CNN.
“This is the first time ever we’ve had this many set of twins in the hospital at once,” said Brenda Cornell, Mother/Baby and NICU clinical nurse manger at Saint Luke’s East Hospital. “The parents have gotten to know each other and talk about their babies. That has been fun for the moms.”
You can say these babies have hit the Big Time. Check out some of the great stories about our twins!
