Wright Memorial Hospital volunteers contribute to equipment purchase
A $2000 contribution for the purchase Hawk Grips for the Wright Memorial Hospital physical therapy department was approved by the WMH Auxillians during a monthly meeting on June 7.
Hawk Grips are tools used by physical and occupational therapists to provide instrument assisted soft-tissue mobilization. These tools will help therapists detect and treat a large variety of soft-tissue injuries. Hawk Grips are used to break up abnormal thickening in scar tissue and initiate the healing process. Some common diagnoses that may benefit from the tools include tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, rotator cuff tears, plantar fasciitis, and many more.
Auxiliary members serve the local hospital in many capacities; among those are welcoming and greeting guests and patients, serving in specialty clinics, operating the hospital gift shop and holding various events to raise money to support the hospital. Annual events sponsored by the Auxiliary include the scrub fair, book fair, and Girls’ Night Out.
The Wright Memorial Auxiliary is currently seeking more volunteers. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact Foundation and Development Officer, Kurt Mylenbusch, at 358-5706. Volunteers contribute the number of hours they desire to work, and the service to our wonderful health care facility is most appreciated.
