Terry Waddell named Wright Memorial Hospital’s Employee of the Year

Terry Waddell, a registered nurse II in Emergency Services  at Wright Memorial Hospital, was honored as the hospital's Employee of the Year for 2014 at the hospital’s annual Christmas party held on Dec. 6. Gary Jordan, CEO, presented the award to Waddell at the event. Other nominees of the 2014 Employee of the Quarter award were Amanda Holt, Linda Dunkin, and Kara Gott.
 
The Employee of the Year Award honors an employee who provides exemplary service, and who goes beyond the call of duty to support fellow employees or to comfort or assist patients and their families. In his nomination form, Waddell's co-workers said, “This employee works hard to provide excellent patient care and he is compassionate to patients. He is highly respected by his peers and is an excellent mentor to employees. He represents the hospital well as he strives for excellence in problem solving and patient care.”

Waddell is involved in the clinical advancement program and has completed the National Emergency Nurse Certification. He also is currently attending school to complete his bachelor’s degree in nursing. At the hospital, he serves on the patient experience team and Emergency Department committee.

In recognition of the award, Waddell received his name on a wall plaque displayed in the hospital, a parking space of his choice for a year, a cash prize, and acknowledgement in the local media and hospital employee intranet.
