New law in Missouri could result in earlier diagnosis of breast cancer
A new law addressing breast density goes into effect in Missouri January 1, 2015 that could result in more women receiving cancer diagnosis early. Leslie Green saw a sign for walk-in mammograms at Saint Luke's North Hospital and chose a 3-D mammogram, the most advanced technology available. It was a blessing, because Saint Luke's breast radiologist, Dr. Jennifer Massengale diagnosed her with stage 1 breast cancer, which was treatable. FOX 4's Meryl Lin McKean spoke with Jennifer about whether the new law goes far enough to help Missouri women.
