Collection Procedure:
A peak specimen is usually drawn 30 - 60 minutes after completion of infusion of an intravenous dose or 60 minutes after an intramuscular or oral dose of gentamicin.
Specimen Processing:
1. Indicate the specimen type on the request form and on the tube.
2. The date and time of draw are required on the request form for processing.
