Hedrick Medical Center earns a four-star rating By the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services

Chillicothe, Mo. (March 09, 2018) — Hedrick Medical Center is one of only eight critical access hospitals in the state of Missouri to receive a four-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The hospital was given a four-star rating based on 57 different measures, including patient experience, readmission, safety of care, effectiveness of care, timeliness of care, efficient use of medical imaging, and mortality.  The rating also places Hedrick in the top third nationally.

“We work extremely hard at Hedrick to ensure our patients receive a high level of care,” said Steve Schieber, CEO, Hedrick Medical Center. “This rating validates our commitment to our patients, so we are honored, and extremely proud of our staff and volunteers.”

The national average is three out of five stars. No critical access hospital in Missouri received a five-star rating. CMS created the Overall Hospital Quality Star Rating Program to help consumers, their families and caregivers compare hospitals more easily.
