KSHB: Rock It! Helps Build Stronger Families
Saint Luke's Crittenton Children's Center's event Rock It! was a huge success.
The goal was to help Kansas City build stronger families. There was fun hands-on activities for all ages, toddlers to teens, and had great strategies for parents. There was resources for families focusing on a variety of topics including nutrition, health and wellness, body awareness, bullying, suicide prevention, literacy, home safety, etc.
Elmo, Rosita, and Nina came all the way from Sesame Street to put on shows for their new friends. Families even had the opportunity to get their picture taken with a special Sesame Street guest, Abby! In addition, local native Michael Steven, star of YouTube’s incredibly popular VSauce put on shows that and interacted with kids about the wonders of science.
Saint Luke's Crittenton Children's Center has been helping the families in our community and surrounding areas overcome difficult times and traumatic events for over 120 years, and is proud to partner with Sesame Street in Communities to help build stronger families right here in KC.
Thank you to our presenting sponsors Honeywell, and Sesame Street in Communities.
Extra thanks to our community sponsors Lockton, Hush Blackwell, and Heartland Coca-Cola, as well as our other community partners for helping us rock it!
KSHB came to the event to see what families were learning and to see our friends from Sesame Street.
