Families who have little ones in Saint Luke’s NICU celebrate every milestone and each day is a gift. With the holiday season upon us, they might not be able to celebrate the way they have imagined. Without the opportunity to go take them to visit Santa, Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City and March of Dimes are helping bring normalcy to the holiday’s and bring joy in celebrating the milestone of their baby’s first holiday.

All NICU babies will be dressed as “gifts” and have their photo taken with Santa by March of Dime volunteer photographers. Volunteers from March of Dimes and Saint Luke’s NICU staff handmade each individual outfit. Families were gifted footprints, a holiday book, an ornament with a ribbon showing how long their baby was during the holiday season and a little Santa bag of candy (for the parents of course).

KCTV talked with one family about their story and what this means to them during the special holiday season.
