KSHB: Can Working the Night Shift Increase Chances of a Miscarriage?

A new study suggests pregnant women who work two or more night shifts in a week may have a higher risk of having a miscarriage. However, outside experts argue the findings do not prove a cause.

KSHB asked Dr. Rebecca Lobell, an OBGYN at Saint Luke's East Hospital, if women should be concerned with the findings.  

"Lots of things have been linked to miscarriage but haven't been proven to result in miscarriage," Dr. Lobell said. "So before women change their lifestyle, they need to realize that the type of study that this was is subject to a lot of bias."
