The co-founder of H&R Block and philanthropist Henry Bloch passed away on April 23, 2019, at the age of 96.

Bloch was a staple to the Kansas City community and played an instrumental role in Saint Luke's mission of providing the highest quality of care. He served on the board of directors for Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City and was also a member of the Saint Luke's Foundation Board.

Henry and the Marion and Henry Bloch Family Foundation donated a historic $25 million to advance Saint Luke's neuroscience program, which was later renamed the Saint Luke's Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute
