KODE: Healthcare agreement to bring changes to Allen County hospital

Changes are in the works for a Southeast Kansas hospital - a new agreement designed to set the stage for the future.

The Allen County Regional Hospital Board voted to least Allen County Regional Hospital to a subsidiary of Saint Luke's Health System. Under the new agreement, Saint Luke's Health System will manage the hospital for a minimum of 10 years.

"They [Saint Luke's] will operate the hospital; all the employees will become Saint Luke's employees," hospital board president Loren Korte said.

Saint Luke's is expected to take over operations at the hospital in early 2020.
