Kale Chips
Try making your own kale chips with this easy recipe from Saint Luke’s Food As Medicine Everyday (FAME) Program.
Ingredients:
- 1 bunch kale
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
Additional optional seasonings:
Black pepper, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, chili powder, nutritional yeast
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 300°F.
- Peel kale leaves away from thick stems and cut or tear leaves into equal “chip-size” pieces (approximately three by three by three-inch).
- Mix kale pieces, olive oil, garlic, salt, and any additional seasonings into a bowl and massage together with hands.
- Spread kale chips evenly in one layer on two baking sheets.
- Bake for 15 minutes. Ovens may vary in their baking time. Bake until kale is slightly crisp around the edges.
