About Andrew Schlachter, MD
Andrew Schlachter, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained pulmonologist with Saint Luke's Pulmonary Specialists. He is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care medicine. His clinical practice includes comprehensive inpatient consultative and outpatient pulmonary care and pulmonary procedures coupled with high-level critical care services in all ICU settings.
He received his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City, Kan. He completed his internal medicine residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Ill., and remained there for a fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine.
Dr. Schlachter was born and raised in Leawood, Kan. He graduated from medical school in the top 5 percent of his class with early election into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. During his fellowship training, he received the "Fellow Teacher of the Year" award two out of three years along with the Rush "Hero of the Heart" award and multiple institutional awards.
