About Nicholas Orme, MD
Nicholas Orme, MD, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained cardiologist with Saint Luke's Cardiovascular Consultants and is on staff at Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute. He specializes in advanced cardiac imaging, including cardiac MRI and echocardiography. Dr. Orme is the director of cardiac MRI and the associate director of the echocardiography laboratory at the Heart Institute. Dr. Orme has active research interests in incidental findings in cardiac imaging and work-related health impacts upon cardiovascular specialists.
When caring for patients, Dr. Orme’s priority is to provide compassionate care by listening and working together to build a plan for making the correct diagnosis and treatment. He has expertise in cardiac imaging, valve disease, coronary artery disease, and heart failure.
Dr. Orme obtained his medical school, internal medicine, and cardiology training at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. His undergraduate work was completed at Brigham Young University where he majored in microbiology with a minor in Portuguese. While enrolled as an undergraduate, Dr. Orme served a two-year volunteer mission in Lisbon, Portugal, and several Portuguese speaking islands in the Atlantic Ocean.
Dr. Orme has been married more than 20 years and is the proud father of five children. He enjoys playing basketball, watching college football, attending his children’s activities, and spending time with his family.
