Good Morning America: It's 'Baby Shark Week' at a Missouri hospital, and it couldn't be cuter
Life right now looks very different then any of us expected. That is especially true for new moms going to the hospital to have their babies. No one had COVID-19 and giving birth during a pandemic as part of their birth plan. Our Saint Luke's North Hospital maternity doctors and nurses wanted to do something extra special and fun for our new moms and babies as a way to bring a little joy during this time.
Our maternity doctors and nurses decided it would be super fun to celebrate our own Baby Shark week. Following strict safety and infection prevention protocols, Saint Luke's North Mother/Baby nurses helped create all the costumes. Because of the pandemic and not wanting to bring in extra people to the hospital, our nurses also served as our baby shark photographers and captured all the photos of our baby sharks and all the video themselves.
Amber Tenay, BSN, RNC-OB, Clinical Coordinator, and Mother/Baby and NICU nurse, was hands-on with this special project and spoke with Good Morning America (GMA) about how it came about and parents reactions to the fun.
