The start of fall sports is just a few weeks away, and some students are already getting ahead by taking part in summer training or conditioning programs during the hot summer months.

KSHB talked to Jessica DeWitt, an athletic trainer with Rockhill Orthopaedic Specialists, about how to keep athletes safe when being exposed to the heat for long hours.


DeWitt shares an easy tip for knowing how much fluids athletes should drink after a hot practice or game. 


DeWitt explains the important role coaches and parents have in keeping athletes safe amid scorching temperatures.
