A local teen lived most of her life blind and deaf. That is, until she came to Saint Luke’s Midwest Ear Institute and after several appointments, had her new cochlear implant turned on. For the first time she would be able to hear her own piano playing. Jamie Governal with Saintt Luke's Hospital's Midwest Ear Institute says, “It's really awesome for kids to be able to hear their parents voices, hear birds chirping, all those things we take advantage of day-to-day."
