An ordinary day spent working in his backyard turned into a weeks-long hospital stay for one Waldo man after he was bitten by a spider. 

Zachary Harakas was diagnosed a rare flesh-eating bacteria, called necrotizing fasciitis, after he started feeling unwell.

KSHB talked to Dr. Andrew Benedict, surgeon with Saint Luke’s Hospital Trauma and Critical Care Specialists, about the rare diagnosis and what the Saint Luke's team did to treat it.
