KYOU: Being Trauma Smart: Kirksville Leaders Learn How To Address Childhood Trauma

The way traumatic situations impact young children can change their lives forever. Educators from TraumaSmart, Head Start and the Community Action Partnership of Northeast Missouri (CAPNEMO) are working together to learn how to better provide for kids experiencing any trauma in their life.

Leaders from CAPNEMO and around Kirksville, MO came together to learn about the impact early trauma can have on children.

CAPNEMO partnered with Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City’s Crittenton Children’s Center’s TraumaSmart to implement their early childhood trauma intervention program so educators and those who work with kids can know what trauma looks like, and how it affects the children and the families they serve.
