Ninth Annual Plaza 10K raises nearly $50,000 for Saint Luke's Home Care and Hospice
On Sunday, September 8th, nearly 4,000 runners converged on the Country Club Plaza to compete in the 9th Annual Plaza 10K, a benefit for Saint Luke’s Home Care and Hospice. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and the Kansas City community, nearly $50,000 was raised to support the patients and families who receive care from Saint Luke’s.
Emcee and meteorologist Neville Miller with KMBC kicked off the race before putting on his running shoes and completing the course. He introduced Saint Luke’s Hospice Care CEO Carol Quiring who shared with the crowd a few facts about the palliative care program at Saint Luke’s. Following Carol’s remarks, Abby Kramer, the daughter of a Hospice volunteer and a recent graduate of the University of Oklahoma, sang the National Anthem and the runners were off.
100% of the sponsorship proceeds from the Plaza 10K will benefit Saint Luke’s Home Care and Hospice, and $2 from each runner’s registration will also be directed to the program. Saint Luke’s gratefully recognizes the following sponsors for their commitment to providing quality, compassionate care to patients and families in need of palliative care.
