Specimen Processing:
1. Preferred specimen processing, where possible:
- Centrifuge specimen for 10 minutes at 4500 rpm.- Remove plasma from the cells and aseptically place the EDTA plasma in a screw-capped, sterile, polypropylene vial.- Maintain sterility and forward promptly.- Plasma samples may be stored refrigerated for up to 6 days, or up to 12 weeks frozen.

2. Within 24 hours of collection, EDTA whole blood must be received at SLH Lab, so that the above steps can be completed.
