Collection Procedure:

The serum or plasma must be separated from the cells within 45 minutes of collection.

Specimen Processing:

Send the serum or plasma in a plastic transport tube. Indicate the specimen source on the tube and the request form. Freeze the plastic transport tube (preferred) or refrigerate.

To avoid delays in turn around time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested.
