Chorionic villus specimen (CVS)
Preferred Volume:
20 - 30 mg
Collection Procedure:
1. Obtain CVS specimen by the transabdominal or transcervical method.
2. Using sterile technique, transfer the CVS to tubes containing transported media.
3. Label the tubes appropriately.
4. Complete a "Chromosome Analysis Request Form" and forward it with the specimen.
Store and Transport:
Refrigerate
Unacceptable Condition:
Specimen cannot be frozen.
