Specimen Processing:
1. Spin the tube within 24 hours of collection and separate the serum or plasma from the cells, then transfer to a plastic screw cap tube and freeze.
2. Samples collected in PPT (Plasma Preparation Tube) do not need to have the plasma pipetted to a transport tube, but do need to be spun within 24 hours of collection.

Unacceptable Condition:
Causes for rejection include incorrect anticoagulant used or PPT tube not centrifuged.

Notes:
To avoid delays in turn around time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested.
