Application Requirements
Saint Luke’s Hospital will manage the application process for its pharmacy residency programs through ASHP’s PhORCAS (Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application) process.
Required application materials will include:
- Completed residency application
- Curriculum vitae
- Three completed reference forms (only the first three references submitted will be reviewed)
- College and Pharmacy School transcripts
- Letter of Intent (PGY1 & PGY2 HSPAL)
- Supplemental Application in Lieu of Letter of Intent (PGY2 Cardiology & PGY2 Critical Care – contact RPD for further information)

All completed applications will be reviewed, and the most qualified candidates will be extended interviews to be held in late January and February. This residency agrees that no person at this residency will solicit, accept, or use any ranking-related information from any residency applicant.
Missouri Pharmacy Licensure with Medication Therapy Certificate is required for applicants that match. Missouri Pharmacy Intern License is required to start work if a Missouri Pharmacist License cannot be obtained before the start date. Missouri Pharmacy Licensure with MTM is required by November 1 for applicants that match.
Staffing & Holiday Requirements
PGY1:
- Extra 4 hour evening coverage after every 6th weekday
- Every other weekend
- Two to three holidays: one major and one or two minor
PGY2:
- Every third weekend
- Two holidays: one major and one minor
All residents receive a compensatory day off following a worked weekend.
Benefits
Residents receive a stipend and are offered the same benefits as full-time employees of Saint Luke's Health System, including medical, vision, and dental insurance, retirement balance, and 403b matching plans.
Leave:
Residents earn approximately eight hours of paid time off (PTO) each pay period (every two weeks), which amounts to about three weeks per year.
PTO may be used for:
- Holidays you do not work
- Vacation
- Time off for interviews
- Sick Leave (to be used in accordance with hospital policy)
