School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Description

The School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography program is an 18-month program that prepares you to be an entry-level diagnostic medical sonographer.

You will receive classroom instruction in the theoretical principles of ultrasound and collecting and analyzing patient information. You will also be exposed to a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment and a large volume of cases.

Clinical and didactic classes meet up to 40 hours per week, Monday–Thursday.

The core curriculum includes:

• Physics
• Abdominal sonography
• OB/GYN sonography
• Breast sonography
• Neurosonography
• Vascular ultrasound

Clinical Rotations

During the program, you will rotate through multiple clinical sites. This allows you to experience a wide variety of settings and learn many different ultrasound systems.

National Registry Sonography Exams

Our graduates will be qualified for the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) National Registry Sonography exams in the following areas:

• OB/GYN
• Abdomen
• Vascular Technology
• Physics
