Specimen Processing:

1. Collect blood and centrifuge the tube at 3000 rpm for 10 minutes.
2. Immediately transfer the plasma to a stoppered, plastic tube and centrifuge again at 3000 rpm for 10 minutes.
3. Transfer the supernatant plasma into a screw-capped plastic vial and send frozen at ≤ -20° C, if possible.
4. If unable to centrifuge, forward the unprocessed sodium citrate whole blood (minimum volume: 4 mL) to the laboratory promptly at room temperature only.

FVIII "Coagulation Factor VIII (8) Assay" will be performed and resulted in addition to the inhibitor assay.
If FVIII "Coagulation Factor VIII (8) Assay" is > 15 %, the inhibitor assay will not be performed.
