1.0 mL (Note: This volume does not allow for repeat testing.)
Specimen Processing:
1. Centrifuge and transfer the serum or plasma to a plastic transport tube.
2. Freeze the specimen immediately and maintain frozen until tested.
3. Indicate the specimen type (serum or EDTA plasma) on the tube and the request form.
4. Include the patient's age on the request form.
5. To avoid delays in turn around time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested.

Unacceptable Condition:
1. Gel tubes are not allowed.
