24 hour plastic urine container or a pour-off bottle
Specimen Type:
Entire 24 hour urine collection. Alternately, a pour-off sample from a 24 hour urine collection is acceptable but the client must measure the 24 hour urine volume and indicate the volume on the requisition.
Minimum Volume:
Entire 24 hour urine collection or 20 - 25 mL (if a pour-off sample is submitted)
Collection Procedure:
1. No preservative.
2. Refrigerate specimen during collection.
3. Starting and ending times of collection are required.
4. Follow instructions in "Urine Collection" in Special Instructions.
